Planspot Privacy Policy

Planspot reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by either a means of a notice on our home page or by email, so that you may access and review the changes to this document in advance of your continued use of the service. If you object to any changes, you may close your account by contacting support@planspot.com. By continuing to use the Planspot services after notice of changes has been sent to you or published on the Planspot website, you are consenting to the changes.


We collect information

  • when you register an account to become a Planspot User, such as your company name, name, e-mail, address details, phone number, country, your interests, your location, social media links and a password.

  • when you connect with social networks like Facebook or Twitter, such as your name, gender, age, your interests, your friends and connections, your events, pages and comments on events.

  • when you interact with Planspot pages and events (like planning, sharing and organizing events), features and functionality, including Planspot mobile applications, software and platform technology (like “plan” buttons, widgets and third-party applications). We may collect your IP address, browser type, operating system, mobile carrier, your ISP and when using our mobile application; your location.

  • when you upload your mailing contacts (you remain the solely owner of your mailing contacts. We will not sell, use, or contact your press contacts without your consent).

  • when you implement a referral button on your website (such as pageviews, unique visitors, IP address, browser type, operating system, mobile carrier, ISP)

  • when you send out send out email campaigns (newsletters) (such as the content of your newsletter, unique clicks, IP, unique opens, bounce complaints, spam complaints)


Uses of personal information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Suggest events based on your interests (categories) and locations.

  • Be able to have our support team contact you

  • Send Planspot notifications, including new announced events, event updates and press messages.

  • Improve our event matching system

  • To develop algorithms, heuristics and computer programs ("Tools") to help us more efficiently spot problem accounts and to use such Tools, together with personal viewing by employees and or independent contractors, to uncover Users who violate either our Terms of Use or applicable law.

  • Enable Users to sync comments and attendees from different sources.

  • To bill and collect money that you owe to us for using our service.

  • To help enforce compliance with our Terms of Use and applicable law

  • Supply anonymized statistics to third parties about people visiting events. This information may contain interests and demographic information.

We do not sell, rent or otherwise provide personally identifiable information to third parties without your consent, except where it is necessary to carry out your instructions (to process your payment information, for example).

We do not sell, rent or otherwise provide any contact information including address details and email to any third parties, including Organizer Users, Media Partner Users and Integration Partner Users. We do not allow and provide the means for Organizer Users, Media Partner Users and Integration Partner Users to contact you outside Planspot.

Please note that in order to fulfil your requests for paid services, we share your payment information with our payment processor.


Control over your information

You can

  • Review, enhance or edit your personal information through your profile page.

  • Control to which social networks you connect, and revoke access from information shared on these networks to Planspot.

  • Control the messages you receive from Planspot.

  • Ask Planspot to remove your account and information.

  • Add, edit and remove your mailing contacts at any time


Cookies

We use cookies and web log files to track site usage and trends, to improve the quality of our service, to customize your experience on Planspot, as well as to deliver Planspot and third-party advertising to Users both on and off the Planspot website. A cookie is a tiny data file that resides on your computer, mobile phone, or other device, and allows us to recognize you as a User when you return to the Planspot website using the same computer and web browser. You can remove or block cookies using the settings in your browser.


Your obligation to other Users

Do not abuse the Planspot service by using it to spam, harass or otherwise violate the Terms of Use or the Privacy Policy.


Storing of information

  • Personal information you provide will be secured in accordance with industry standards and technology.

  • Payment information such as your credit card number and billling information is not stored on the Planspot servers, but securely stored with our PCI Level 1 Compliant payment processor

  • You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to your email communications at all times

  • Please note that by becoming a User, you have given Planspot your express and informed consent that all data you provide to Planspot is to be stored on our data center in the EU



Content of Email Campaigns (Newsletters)

Our automated system actively monitors all Email Campaigns (newsletters) on bounce and spam complaints, notifying our employees or independent contractors about any Email Campaign generating above avereage amount of bounce or spam complaints. In that case our employees our independent contractors will review the content of your Email Campaign to verify compliance with our Terms of Use. This practice benefits all Users who are in compliance with our Terms of Use because, among other things, it reduces SPAM being sent through our servers which helps to ensure high deliverability.


Security

In order to help secure your personal information, access to your data on Planspot is password-protected, and sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and the Planspot website. However, since the internet is not a 100 percent secure environment, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Planspot. There is no guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. It is your responsibility to protect the security of your login information. Please note that emails, instant messaging, and similar means of communication with other Users of Planspot are not encrypted, and we strongly advise you not to communicate any confidential information through these means.
